Design Management
A well-managed design is the foundation of a successful project. Our experiences with design management strategies address common project risks and include the following:
- Engagement of general and key trade contractors early in design to benefit from their technical and construction knowledge during the design phase
- Use of the Target Value Design approach to ensure that the budget drives the design through continuous tracking of the cost of key indicators during all phases of design
- Support of design through continuous cost analysis of design options to support timely design decision-making
- Continuous monitoring of the project schedule, including internal and external approval milestones, and assessment of schedule changes on the project budget.
